JAYE ALLISON, MFA is a Philadelphia native daughter who continues 40+ years as an Independent Dance Artist, Producer, Educator and Author who has devoted her life to the field of dance arts, legacy building and its future. 3 publications: December 2015- Chronicles of Carols in Color the Storybook, a children’s book for all ages on how to make a successful dance company and September 2020 - Her Chronicles Continues...Open Letter to You, The Storybook, January 2022 - Director's Deluxe Edition of her 1st book. Philadelphia’s Casting Director for Maurice Hines Jr. is TAPPIN’ THROUGH LIFE, Penns Landing Playhouse Theatre in the Independence Seaport Museum; Founder: New LEJA Dances the co. (37yrs), Philly TAP Challenge Festival (10yrs), JADA DanceTap Ensemble (2009). Original musical /choreographic credits include: Leslye Headland’s ‘ASSISTANCE’, Theresa Rebeck’s ‘The Understudy’ by The Wilma Theater, Co-creator of LEJA’s Holiday offerings ‘I AM’ and ‘Carols In Color’. Performing credits include: directorial debut of Stephanie Mills The Gate Called Straight, Companies: Philadelphia Civic Ballet Company (also Program Dir.), She is a company member of two Legendary Tap companies; the Silver Belles of the film Been Rich All My Life, as a 2nd Generation Silver Belle and the world famous New Jersey Tap Ensemble. Volunteer Production team of Debbie Allen’s Alex in Wonderland and Brotherhood of the Knight LA. Dancefusion, Marc/Charles Dancers, Power 99FM Dancers. Education: Phila. Awards: Global Forum for Education & Learning Excellence in Education Award 2021, Best Documentary, Producer, Short Film Actress, Social Justice and U.S. Short Awards from numerous World Film Festivals.Earned recognition: Philadelphia City Council Citation of Honor, Phillyist and Rocky Awardee Grants: PA Dept. of Community Development, Dance Advance – Pew Center for Arts & Heritage, Leeway Foundation, 5-County Arts Grant.
